Kitty Hawk Flyer

The Kitty Hawk Flyer is now available in the consumer market! Last month Kitty Hawk announced the release of their recreational aircraft called the Flyer. This is an exciting time for the personal air vehicle community and NexAvian is looking forward to adding this unique model to its future fleet of personal flying experiences!

Kitty Hawk’s strategy is to introduce this product as a recreational vehicle under the ultralight flight regulations. This will allow for easy training and regular flights for everyone. Their long term vision is to be a major player in the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) industry for personal air taxis. Although this product, the Flyer, will most probably remain in the recreational market, their Cora eVTOL is certainly making significant steps towards being a leader in the future UAM fleet.

As they remained focused on both recreation and transportation, the Flyer is however the only one available on the market today. As an ultralight ready to fly within only a short training period, the Flyer is a major shift in the traditional business model of personal flight training. We used to spend weeks obtaining flight training before actually taking to the skies, but now with their advanced technology and simplified pilot controls, you can be up flying within the same day. Granted this is not a high altitude flight and only hovering above the water, yet it still brings excitement to the flying community as we get closer to freely flying around our environments!

As described on their website, the design is “expertly crafted using highly durable composite material that is lightweight, aerodynamic, and waterproof”. This makes it ideal for the recreational ultralight flying customers who will need to easily transport and store it from location to location.

While Kitty Hawk continues to invite small groups of customers and partners to fly and collaborate towards fleet purchasing agreements, NexAvian will continue to evaluate the Flyer as a potential addition to our personal flying experiences.
